Gut Health Protocol: Where To Go from Here

This is the end of the Gut Health 30-Day Challenge. Now it’s time to take a step back and see where we are, and where we go next!

The goals for this program were:

  • Digestion significantly improved and heartburn should be gone or noticeably lessened.
  • Bowel movements will have normalized.
  • Cravings for sugar or junk food should be gone or severely diminished.
  • Any extra inches around the waste caused by bloating from gas should be fully or mostly gone (this is a bigger deal than most people realize).
  • Hormones will be in much better balance.
  • Mood and energy levels will be much higher and stress levels will be lower.
  • It will be easier to relax, to fall asleep and to stay asleep.
  • Skin health will have improved, quite visibly in some cases.
  • Mental ability will have improved for some.
  • Longevity will have increased.
  • It will be much easier to lose fat on a diet and get through the “cravings hurdle.”
  • It will be easier to add muscle, especially for those in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
  • And, if HRV levels were measured at the beginning of the challenge, these should now be higher.

Even more importantly, you should now understand yourself much more and be more in control of your own health.

So let’s check our metrics we noted at the beginning of the challenge and see how they compare to now.

The Waistline:

On the first day we measured our waist at the belly button and noted down the exact measurement.

Measure this again, it should be less than it was.

This is because the gas and bloating caused by SIBO is generally more significant than most people think and often we can lose an inch or more.

Where are you at now?

Self Ratings:

At the beginning of the challenge, and weekly, you were to rate the following on a scale of 1-5. So for this, rate yourself now on points one through five below and then compare your numbers to your Day One ratings.

1. Rate your energy levels on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being very lethargic and 5 being very energetic.

2. Rate how refreshed you do or don't feel after sleep from 1 to 5, with 1 being not refreshed at all and 5 being very refreshed.

3. Rate your stress levels on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being very stressed out often and 5 being more relaxed and much less stressed.

4. Rate your mental alertness on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being heavy brain fog or lessened mental alertness and 5 being quite alert and quick-thinking.

5. If you had indigestion, acid reflux, GERD, IBS or constipation often before starting this, rate this with 1 being quite bad and 5 being no trouble.

Alright. Now compare the ratings on each point individually, and also add up the numbers from Day One and then the numbers from Day Thirty. The numbers on Day Thirty should be higher overall.

IF YOU HAVE MORE TO DO:

Now, depending on where we are, there will be a couple different courses of action to take.

For some, their gut was in pretty bad shape when starting this challenge and this should have improved. But it won’t be fully up to par yet.

In this case, continue on for another 30 days, noting your first 30 Day metrics as the start of the next 30 days.

The only change from the original Day 1 is that you should be at more than 1 Gut Defense per day.

If you are at 3 Gut Defense per day, continue on at this amount. Increasing this to 4 will not achieve any better results, just carry on at 3.

If you are not yet at 3 then you definitely need to carry on, making it to 3 per day as covered in the protocol, and carrying forward from there.

IF YOU FEEL FANTASTIC:

If your gut health wasn’t too bad to start, gas, bloating and heartburn are gone, digestion is good, mood is generally good, sleep is good, and energy levels are high, fantastic!

It is recommended that you carry on with Gut Defense for the full 4 months to ensure all SIBO or candida growth is gone.

But you can start working back in low glycemic carbohydrates if you’d like. Though do keep these low as, until the SIBO is fully handled, any sugars will support it.

But keeping to low glycemic carbs and carrying on with Gut Defense should be just fine.

From here you have a few options.

You can do the 30-Day Fat Loss Challenge if you’d like. This will go much easier after this protocol.

You can do the 30-Day Lean Bulk Challenge if you’re ready to start adding lean muscle.

Or, you can get ready for the 30-Day Detox Challenge, being released very soon!

As our gut is the main channel our body uses to detox itself, we needed it working at optimal levels before going into a detox.

So if you’re feeling great, then you can jump right into this next, ridding your body of harmful toxins that decrease longevity and affect every aspect of our body’s overall functioning.

I hope this helps.

And if you haven't started the Gut Health 30-Day Challenge, I urge you to. It's one of the most important programs we can do for overall health.
